Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - Seventh Chakra

The Seventh Chakra is our spiritual connection.

This is so far out of the picture for Aislinn as the series begins, because too many of her concerns are about her physical and emotional well-being, but she already shows a concern for those around her, even though her world and her people are new to her.

Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - Sixth Chakra

The Sixth Chakra is about intellect and intuition.

Aislinn is street-smart. She has no addictions but has lived with people who do. She understands well how to keep herself safe and using her intelligence to solve problems. Her intuitive gifts, natural among the Faerie folk, have been blocked, causing her to have a constant headache. Her well-developed skills of observation serve her well as she goes about trying to solve the mystery of her mother's coma, Cian's drugged behavior, and other mysteries of a world that is completely new to her.

Aislinn has learned very well how to adapt no matter where she finds herself. This serves her well in her new "home."

Dyan Garris Interviews Cat Muldoon on Voice of the Angels Blog

I met Dyan Garris, author of Voice of the Angels books, music, and spiritual exploration cards during her virtual book tour (I virtually met her, that is). I immediately felt a kinship with her. Dyan's depth and caring come right through her words printed onscreen. She actually gets up at 4 AM to do a channeled message every day. That's amazing to me, who is a night owl!

Anyway, these are some of the things she asked me about on her blog:
Telepathy
Clairvoyance
spiritual beliefs
shapeshifting
herbology
aromatherapy
massage therapy
training
research
life experiences
characters talking to me
the difference between observation and intuition
and so much more.

I hope this entices you to check out my interview. She asked me some amazingly insightful questions, and I'll tell you, it took me a while to complete the interview.

Be sure to go to her website for your free angel card reading. The cards are simply gorgeous!

Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - Fifth Chakra

The Fifth Chakra is about communicating one's truth.

Aislinn has managed to be a caring person despite her difficulties. She has a desire to be open with people even if she lacks the trust and ability. It is difficult for her to express her deepest feelings, but she makes the first baby steps to opening up during the first novel.

Gee, as I do this I realize what a mess she must seem like to someone who may be reading this who hasn't read the book.

She could have come out hard, but she is a likable person who does rise to the hero's challenge.

Despite all she's lived through, she does everything she can think of to help her mother, who is in a mysterious coma for most of the book. She is willing even to go against her better judgment to be of value to her people.

Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - Fourth Chakra

The Fourth Chakra is about Emotion, especially love.

As the series begins, Aislinn feels she can trust only one person. She begins to trust people in Faerie only a little. This is not surprising given that her kinsman is acting drugged and someone is trying to kill off the family.

The first book takes place over a matter of about 3 weeks, so there is only so much love and trust that can naturally occur for someone like her in this amount of time. She does begin to accept assistance and she begins to open up just a little (a very little).

Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - Third Chakra

The third chakra s about physical attributes and power.

Aislinn has learned to be phpysicallystrong as a necessity to keep her safe. When she met Sharla, after fleeing her last foster home on her 18th birthday, she learned Tai Chi, which gave her experience in meditation as well as skills that could be used for self defense.

Aislinn is beautiful but is too thin. She has not truly claimed her power at the start of the series, though new powers are thrust upon her during Rue the Day.

Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - Second Chakra

This is an ongoing character analysis of Aislinn, the heroine of the Undercover Heir series, using the Chakra system.

The Second Chakra is located in the genitals and relates to sex and creativity.

Aislinn has not felt close enough to anyone for much sexual involvement. One of her foster fathers attempted to rape her on her 18th birthday. As she learns to trust, she will be able to open up on this level.

Character Analysis of Aislinn, the Undercover Heir - First Chakra

This is a way to build a character with consideration to what this person is like on many different levels. I am using the 7 Chakra system that has been around for over 6,000 years. I'll cover each chakra for Aislinn in a separate post.

Name of character: Aislinn

Chakra 1 is located in the groin and relates to security/survival issues
Aislinn has so often had her security compromised that it is difficult for her to trust. She developed keen observation skills because of this as well.
Although Aislinn is Faerie, she was born and grew up in the mortal (human) world. Her mother, Neala, left her or was harmed or killed - she eenver knew for certain - when she was a toddler. Having no family or other connections, the child was alone for a few days until a neighbor discovered her.
From that point throughout her childhood, she was shuffled from one foster home to another. She did not fit in well with children as she moved with cat-like grace, not the typical awkward movements of childhood.
The effect of all this on her life now, as a young woman of 20, is that she has never felt truly safe. This is where we meet her in Rue the Day - and she has little reason to feel safe in her true home of Faerie either, considering that her life is in danger!
